In short summary, I live in Rochester, NY, work at Strong Memorial Hospital and spend my free time doing fun things with a wonderful person by the name of Shaun Goodwin.
How is it that I came to reside in Rochester? Good question since as many of you know I was born in Plum Boro, PA and am kinda of surprised to have escaped from there for this long! the journey to this northeast city is a long one but in the recent past I made a few choice decisions that resulted in this easterly move. So medical school is this place you go and think you are learning a boatload about medical like stuff and you likely are but for sure know you are paying a boatload and toward the end of this boat like experience you must choose a specialty, for better or for worse, that you will likely practice for the entirety of your career; unless of course, you change your mind and decide to experience the world in an entirely different fashion, say maybe as a deep sea diver. So there was a time in the fall of 2008 when I needed to make a decision about the life I would lead. That decision lead me to a speciality called anesthesiology, which everyone knows is when the nice doctor gives nice medicines through the nice IV and you drift quickly, quietly and happily off to sleep. And after that decision was made it took from then til now to be nearly two years deep into a position called anesthesiology residency. The process involved a lot of interviews and researching programs and during that process I found the University of Rochester Medical Center which I thought would be a great place to get all the trianing I would need for a great career in putting people to sleep!
